Danfoss Showcases Liquid Cooling and Heat Pumps at MCE 2026
Integrated solutions for high-density data centers and industrial heat pumps up to 3 MW support energy efficiency and system-level decarbonization.

Data center operators and industrial heat pump manufacturers are facing rising performance requirements driven by high-performance computing and electrification. At MCE 2026 in Milan, Danfoss is presenting solutions for data center liquid cooling and high-efficiency heat pump systems, addressing both digital infrastructure growth and industrial decarbonization. The company is exhibiting in Hall 11, Stand P01/R10.
The exhibition highlights integrated component portfolios for liquid-cooled data centers and heat pumps ranging from light commercial systems to industrial installations up to 3 MW.
Liquid cooling for high-density data centers
As rack power densities increase, conventional air cooling becomes less efficient, driving adoption of liquid cooling architectures. Danfoss supports this transition with modular components covering the full cooling loop—from the Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) to chip-level thermal management.
For CDUs, the XB67 brazed plate heat exchanger is optimized for liquid-to-liquid applications, achieving approach temperatures between 2°C and 4°C. This supports CDU designs up to 1.3 MW while maintaining low log mean temperature difference (LMTD), improving heat transfer efficiency.
The Alsmart programmable HVAC controller platform enables intelligent and cyber-secure CDU control, combining remote monitoring with integrated cybersecurity features.
At rack level, the CoolTrain valve train is designed for hydronic liquid cooling systems using glycol concentrations up to 40%. Delivered pre-assembled and tested, the system simplifies installation while ensuring accurate flow balancing and corrosion resistance across large-scale deployments.
Mechanical cooling systems for data centers
Beyond direct liquid cooling, Danfoss presents components for chillers and CRAC/CRAH units used in mechanical cooling systems.
The oil-free ecosystem, centered on the Turbocor TGS380 Active Cooling compressor and supported by OFC, OFB and PTS technologies, delivers integrated high-efficiency operation for data center chillers.
The VZN inverter scroll compressor, qualified with R513A refrigerant, enables variable-speed operation for CRAC systems. This improves part-load efficiency and supports extended evaporating temperature ranges required for higher rack heat loads.
For free cooling systems, the square header microchannel heat exchanger features an all-aluminium design that reduces refrigerant charge, enhances corrosion resistance and lowers energy consumption.
Heat pumps for comfort and commercial applications
In the comfort heating segment, Danfoss presents components for systems ranging from 20 to 700 kW. The VPN175 inverter scroll compressor with vapor injection, compatible with R290 refrigerant, extends the operating envelope and improves seasonal performance under low ambient conditions. Vapor injection increases heating capacity while maintaining efficiency.
The DST P070 pressure transmitter is engineered for compact heat pump installations and manufactured using more than 50% recycled stainless steel.
For dual-circuit systems, the C262-EZDP brazed plate heat exchanger supports heating or cooling capacities from 200 to 800 kW, suitable for air-cooled and water-cooled chillers and heat pumps.
Industrial heat pumps up to 3 MW
For industrial process heating, Danfoss addresses applications requiring supply temperatures up to 120°C, with development targeting 150°C. The expanded portfolio supports systems up to 3 MW and is compatible with refrigerants including low-GWP HFOs, CO₂ and hydrocarbons.
The BOCK HGX68 CO₂ T eight-cylinder transcritical compressor provides up to 97.7 m³/h displacement at 50 Hz, enabling large-scale CO₂ systems in single-rack configurations up to 3 MW. This reduces system complexity and footprint.
Large CO₂ ejectors and motorized control valves enhance efficiency in transcritical CO₂ systems, while the KS1 screw compressor integrates a refrigerant-cooled inverter to reduce installation footprint and eliminate additional cabling. Expansion valves rated up to 130°C and DCR E filter driers complete the high-temperature offering.
At MCE 2026 in Milan, Danfoss demonstrates how integrated component design—from CDUs and compressors to control systems and high-temperature heat pump components—supports both energy-efficient data center cooling and competitive industrial decarbonization.
