Expanded BPHE Portfolio for HVAC and Data Centers
Sanhua has expanded its brazed plate heat exchanger portfolio and upgraded selection software to support a broader range of HVAC and cooling applications.

Sanhua has introduced seven new brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) models and enhanced its Explorer selection software, extending coverage across HVAC, refrigeration, and data center cooling applications with more precise component matching.
Portfolio expansion and application scope
The expanded BPHE portfolio is designed to address increasingly diverse thermal management requirements in systems such as chillers, heat pumps, boilers, and data center cooling installations. By adding multiple plate sizes and configurations, Sanhua aims to improve performance matching across different capacity ranges and operating conditions.
The updates are supported by enhancements to the Explorer software, which provides more accurate selection and sizing of heat exchangers based on system parameters. This supports engineers in optimizing heat transfer efficiency, refrigerant charge, and system footprint during the design phase.
Compact solutions for small-capacity systems
The new S6C model is designed with a compact structure and enhanced heat transfer characteristics. It targets small-capacity heat pumps, air heaters, and economizers used in variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems. Its reduced size supports space-constrained installations while maintaining effective thermal performance.
Boiler-specific and mid-capacity designs
The B12 model has been developed specifically for boiler applications. It provides heat transfer capacity up to 80 kW (approximately 273,000 BTU/h) and uses a double fishbone plate design to enhance thermal efficiency. This configuration supports stable heat exchange in hydronic heating systems where temperature differentials and flow conditions can vary.
The S20D model offers multi-functionality, capable of operating as an evaporator, condenser, economizer, or desuperheater in chiller and heat pump systems. It is compatible with R290 refrigerant and incorporates laser-welded connections to support higher pressure requirements and system integrity.
R290-compatible and charge-optimized models
The S65A model is also designed for R290-based systems, reflecting the growing adoption of low-global-warming-potential refrigerants. It covers a heat transfer capacity range from 10 to 90 kW (approximately 34,100 to 307,000 BTU/h). A double asymmetric plate structure is used to reduce refrigerant charge while maintaining effective heat transfer, supporting both efficiency and safety considerations.
Modular units and data center cooling
The S114A model targets use as an economizer in modular units and screw compressor systems and is also suitable for data center cooling applications. It provides capacities from 30 to 200 kW (approximately 102,000 to 682,000 BTU/h), addressing mid-range thermal loads typical of modular HVAC and IT cooling systems.
For higher-capacity data center applications, the S120 and S200 models are designed for water-to-water or water-to-ethylene glycol heat exchange. The S120 covers capacities from 30 to 400 kW (approximately 102,000 to 1,364,000 BTU/h), while the S200 extends the range to 80–600 kW (approximately 273,000 to 2,047,000 BTU/h). These models support scalable cooling architectures required in high-density computing environments.
Design and selection implications
By combining a broader BPHE portfolio with enhanced selection software, Sanhua enables more precise alignment between system requirements and heat exchanger characteristics. This approach supports improved thermal efficiency, optimized refrigerant use, and better adaptability across HVAC, refrigeration, and data center cooling applications, where operating conditions and performance targets continue to diversify.
