Ruggedised PTZ Cameras Designed for Extreme Environments

Operators working in critical infrastructure, transportation networks, industrial zones, ports and urban environments require surveillance systems that maintain stable performance despite weather extremes, vibrations or environmental contaminants. Hanwha Vision addressed these requirements with its first ruggedised PTZ camera range, engineered to provide consistent visual monitoring and analytics in challenging outdoor locations.

Durability and Reliability in Extreme Conditions
The new PTZ models—TNP-A6550RW, TNP-A7430RW and TNP-A9430RW—were developed to endure severe environmental stresses while maintaining continuous operation. Their operating range from -50°C to +60°C supports deployment in both very cold and very hot regions. The cameras demonstrated resilience against wind speeds associated with Category 5 hurricane conditions, ensuring stable monitoring during intense storms.

Their mechanical design includes anti-icing technology that prevents obstruction of the viewing window and maintains PTZ mobility in freezing climates. Optical and digital stabilisation limit image distortion when exposed to high winds or structural vibrations. With IP68 protection against dust and water, IK10 impact resistance and compliance with MIL-STD-810H testing, the series is suited for locations where dust, sand, saltwater spray or heavy precipitation frequently challenge equipment longevity.

Imaging Capabilities Optimised for Large Outdoor Areas
The cameras integrate long-range optical zoom, reaching up to 55x on the 2MP model and 43x on the 4MP and 8MP variants, enabling operators to capture details across wide operational areas. An IR range of up to 500 m extends night-time and low-light visibility. Powered by the Wisenet 9 System on Chip, the imaging system improves low-light sensitivity and Wide Dynamic Range performance, supporting visibility in scenes with complex lighting or strong contrast.

The wide tilt range and adaptable mounting options allow placement on poles, high structures or industrial platforms where extended coverage and mechanical flexibility are essential.

AI Functions That Enhance Situational Awareness
The ruggedised PTZ range incorporates embedded AI analytics designed to increase operator efficiency. The object classification engine identifies people, vehicles, faces, clothing attributes and license plates, making forensic searches faster and more precise. Automated tracking maintains focus on selected objects even in dynamic environments, and Dynamic Privacy Masking helps support compliance in sensitive locations without interrupting monitoring workflows.

Cybersecurity and System Integration for Critical Infrastructure
The cameras include cybersecurity features validated through certifications such as FIPS 140-3 Level 3 and ETSI EN 303 645. Their compression technology optimises bandwidth while maintaining image quality, an advantage for large installations and remote sites with limited network resources. Integration with widely used video management systems—including Milestone, Genetec (via plug-in), Wisenet SSM and Wisenet WAVE—supports streamlined adoption within existing infrastructures.

A New Reference Point for Harsh-Environment PTZ Surveillance
By combining environmental resilience, long-range imaging, stabilisation, embedded AI and certified cybersecurity, this ruggedised PTZ series provides a differentiated solution for operators seeking dependable monitoring performance in locations exposed to weather extremes or mechanical stress. The cameras are positioned as reliable tools for mission-critical surveillance where durability and continuous visibility are essential.
