“In addition to aspects like sustainability and efficiency, safety is a central element of modern, liveable buildings” explains Michael Sauer, Sales Engineer at GEZE. “This applies to fire protection as well, in particular. Comprehensive fire protection concepts play a key role in this respect. Ideally, nowadays these should be part of an integrated building automation system that ensures all processes can run reliably and independently”. GEZE is demonstrating the relevance of this combination of automation and fire protection at VdS-FireSafety in Cologne.
The comprehensive networking solution myGEZE Connectivity, consisting of the myGEZE Control connectivity platform and myGEZE Visu visualisation software, is at the heart of the Leonberg company's presentation at its stand.
myGEZE Connectivity: Automated building processes for fire protection concepts
The modular myGEZE Control platform is the next-generation networking solution in door, window and safety technology, and a central component of an effective and efficient fire protection concept. Thanks to the adjustable, automated processes myGEZE Control offers, safe and central monitoring of building operations is possible at all times. The platform is modular and flexible, and can be integrated into different areas of building management with the open BACnet standard. Thanks to the flexibility of BACnet, the system also facilitates highly efficient integration into building automation control system, physical security management, and CAFM systems from any manufacturer. In particular in the area of fire protection, but also in accessibility and emergency exit protection, GEZE supports building management with an innovative and comprehensive networking solution thanks to myGEZE Connectivity.

Reliable networking thanks to reliable components
Automated networking only works reliably when the individual networked components also work reliably and efficiently. This is the only way smoke and heat extraction and RWS systems can function optimally. The GEZE RSZ 7 smoke switch control unit, for example, is one such component. It is used for early detection of smoke and fire on fire protection doors, and controls the hold-open devices for fire and smoke protection closers. The RSZ 7 has a telescopic function to bridge less favourable lintel situations, and an integrated smoke switch with automatic adaptation of the alarm threshold. In conjunction with the RSZ 7, the TS 5000 SoftClose door closer offers a reliable way to close heavy doors securely and quietly – even in challenging circumstances involving wind, suction, or changing pressure levels. GEZE offers the TZ 320 door control unit for reliably controlling escape route doors. It can be networked and easily integrated into the building automation control system via myGEZE Control, and it offers EN 13637 conforming protection against unauthorised access.
