KONE wins order for GDH City mixed-use development in Shenzhen, China
KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to deliver 50 elevators to GDH City, a new mixed-use development in Shenzhen, in the Guangdong province of southeast China. Also known as the "Silicon Valley of China", Shenzhen is a vibrant global technology hub, as well as being the city with the most completed skyscrapers over 200 meters in height.
GDH City will comprise of business apartments, two office towers of 180 and 303 meters as well as commercial space, including a 100,000 square-meter experiential shopping mall. The combination of business, commerce, living, culture and natural surroundings, the development is expected to bring a new type of customer experience to Shenzhen city center.
KONE will deliver 46 KONE MiniSpace elevators and four KONE MiniSpace DoubleDeck elevators for the project. In addition, the buildings will be equipped with the KONE Destination Control System to reduce waiting and traveling times, as well as the KONE E-link monitoring system, which can keep track of the performance of all the equipment in real time from a single location. The contract also includes two years of standard maintenance.

The project is estimated to be completed in 2023, and it is developed by Guangdong Land Holdings Ltd.
KONE booked the order in the second quarter of 2020.
