There is a touch of magic in the air when windows and sliding doors appear to open, tilt or close by themselves. Intelligent building automation coupled with high-tech window and sliding systems make this possible. They enable optimum levels of energy management, comfort and security to be achieved in residential and commercial buildings. In order to offer a top-quality, simple solution, Loxone (a specialist in intelligent building automation) and Schüco International KG (a developer of state-of-the-art system solutions for windows, doors and façades) have decided to join forces and pool their expertise, benefitting electrical engineers, specifiers, architects, investors and clients in the process.

The Schüco Extension by Loxone enables the integration of up to 30 Schüco units.

Ventilation has never been so topical in Germany as it has been in recent months. We all know that fresh air makes indoor spaces healthier and more comfortable. It is also a key aspect when it comes to managing a building's energy usage. At the same time, however, windows and doors play an important role with regard to security. Schüco developed the mechatronic TipTronic SimplySmart fitting in order to elegantly combine energy management, comfort, security and building automation. The concealed actuator technology enables Schüco aluminium window and sliding systems to be automated. With the newly developed Schüco Extension from Loxone, Schüco TipTronic SimplySmart windows and sliding doors can now be easily integrated into the manufacturer's intelligent building automation system. Windows and doors can now be opened, stopped, tilted or closed automatically, for example to improve the air quality or if it starts raining.

With the help of the concealed, mechatronic Schüco TipTronic SimplySmart fitting, the Schüco ASE 60 (Aluminium Sliding Element, basic depth: 60 mm) can be opened easily and quietly.

Optimum energy usage

“With this partnership, we are combining the best of what both companies have to offer for our customers,” explains Rüdiger Keinberger, CEO of Loxone. Joachim Gau, Head of the Smart Building business unit at Schüco, adds: “By integrating Schüco windows and sliding doors into the Loxone system, an intelligent building is created, which offers all-round comfort and makes optimum use of the energy-saving potential of the building envelope.” Up to 30 Schüco units can be integrated with the Schüco Extension.

Thanks to the Loxone Config configuration software, integration is incredibly simple to complete, requiring just the touch of a button. Once integrated, the system provides building managers and clients with comfort, convenience and optimum control of the windows and doors through the intelligent building automation solution. Notifications about the current opening widths and locking statuses of the units are also available, if required.
