KONE to equip Bangkok metro’s Orange Line in Thailand
KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, will deliver 72 elevators and escalators for Contract E3 of the MRT Orange Line (East Section) project in the Bangkok metro in Thailand.
In total, the MRT Orange Line will be 39.8 kilometers in length and travel between Taling Chang and Min Buri through 28 stations, 21 of which will be underground. Currently, the Bangkok metro has five lines in service and in the future, the subway system is expected to have altogether 10 lines.
To help smooth the flow of passengers along the Bangkok metro, KONE will equip three stations from Yaek Lam Sali station to Khlong Ban Ma station as well as three intervention shafts with 17 KONE S MonoSpace® elevators and 55 KONE TransitMaster 120 escalators. In addition, the contract includes KONE E-Link equipment monitoring system.

The owner of the MRT Orange Line (East Section) is Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and the main contractor of Contract E3 is Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited (ITD).
KONE booked the order in the first quarter of 2020.
