SAUTER Vision Center – BACnet certification
BACnet is the worldwide standardized Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks. BACnet is defined as an ISO, ANSI and ASHRAE standard to ensure a globally uniform and manufacturer-independent protocol for building automation. This standard is independent of specific technologies and manufacturers which mean that any device can interact with another through BACnet communication standard.
With the fast development in building management and information technology, the BACnet standard is constantly being expanded and its versions are adapted and released as a standard. This enables manufacturers such as SAUTER, to implement the latest standards in devices and software products in accordance with the new BACnet revisions and associated test protocols. It ensures a full compatibility based on the BACnet standard.
SAUTER is setting new standards with the new version of Vision Center and the completed BACnet certification. Our BACnet-Client is now the first in Europe to have a certification with the revision 18 while being BACnet Cross-Domain Advanced Operator Workstation (B-XAWS) certificated.
In other words, SAUTER Vision Center can handle services and objects from BACnet interoperability areas as Data Sharing, Scheduling, Alarm & Event Management, Trending and Device & Network Management.
SAUTER Vision Center 6.3 is now certified for the following device profiles:
- BACnet Advanced Operator Workstation (B-AWS) This profile describes the extended user interface of a BACnet system. The main purpose of the operator interface is to monitor the system performances and to adjust parameters that influence the operation. It enables a limited intervention in the configuration.
- BACnet Advanced Life Safety Workstation (B-ALSWS) With the B-ALSWS profile, SAUTER Vision Center can process all the BACnet life safety features. It is aimed at safety managers and technicians with a higher level of technical skills. A limited intervention in the configuration is possible.
- BACnet Advanced Access Control Workstation (B-AACWS) B-AACWS allows the operator to access control systems from SAUTER Vision Center, which regulate physical access to the building. It enables users to be managed and authorisations to be granted as well as access points, access zones and doors to be configured. It therefore represents the operating interface for those responsible for security.
With Vision Center, SAUTER is raising its central and higher-level building management solution for systems, buildings and properties to the highest BACnet level currently available. You now have the opportunity to enjoy an HTML5-based software solution and monitor, to operate and optimise your buildings and properties at any time and from anywhere. It does not matter which automation stations from which manufacturers are located in the buildings, as long as they are standardized BACnet devices.
