New mobile air cleaner FreciousComfort Clean for sensitive areas
MANN+HUMMEL, the global market leader in filtration with more than 1,000 employees in Research & Development, has developed a mobile air cleaner for sensitive areas, such as temporary hospitals in tents or exhibition centers. FreciousComfort Clean captures 99.95 percent of contamination in the air and was developed as a response to COVID-19. Using air ducts, MANN+HUMMEL adapts the system flexibly to meet specific customer applications.
The mobile air cleaner can make an important contribution to preventing infections by reducing the concentration of infectious viruses in the air. Based on this, the system could be used, for example, within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic as an additional measure to prevent contamination.
The novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 is mainly transmitted between humans in the form of infectious droplets. Scientists have discovered that SARS-CoV-2, similar to other viruses, could also be spread in the form of an airborne aerosol (i.e. in the form of very small droplets that remain in the air for a significant time period before settling onto the ground). One option to reduce the risk of airborne transfer is to use mobile air cleaning units with an H13 HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter.
FreciousComfort Clean is designed for air flows up to 2,000 m3/h and consists of a three-stage filter system. The Class H13 HEPA filter is manufactured with a micro glass fiber medium according to EN 1822 and/or the global ISO 29463 standard. Among other things, this medium captures microorganisms and viruses in droplet form.
The polyphenol layer of the compact air filter is effective against protein-containing particles and has a CoV-reducing potential. The filter also prevents bacteria, mold, and dangerous gases from reaching the filter’s clean side. The function of FreciousComfort technology is proven and certified by bifa Umweltinstitut GmbH as well as by the Hohenstein Institut. Furthermore, the activated carbon medium adsorbs unpleasant odors reliably. Attachments for optimum air intake are available as an option.
