Construction Deviation Data Integrated into BIM Workflows

Hexagon Multivista has integrated its Analyze deviation detection service with Revizto’s BIM collaboration platform, enabling construction teams to transfer detected clashes and deviations directly into coordinated digital models. The integration targets commercial construction and large-scale building projects that rely on structured BIM workflows for coordination and quality control.

Context of the Cooperation
Hexagon, through its Multivista division, provides construction documentation and deviation analysis services based on site-captured reality data. Revizto develops a BIM intelligence platform used by architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) teams to manage model coordination and issue tracking.

Large construction projects typically involve multiple design disciplines and contractors working on federated BIM models. Deviations between installed conditions and design intent identified through point clouds, imagery, or dimensional analysis must be communicated clearly and tracked within coordination environments. Manual re-entry of issues across platforms can introduce delays and data inconsistencies. The cooperation addresses this interoperability gap within the digital infrastructure used for project coordination.

Technical Solution and System Architecture
Hexagon Multivista Analyze processes captured site data to identify geometric deviations and clashes relative to BIM models. Through the new integration, selected deviations can be exported directly into Revizto’s issue log.

Technically, this establishes a structured data transfer between the deviation detection module and Revizto’s Collaboration Hub. Metadata associated with each deviation such as location, model reference, and descriptive parameters is preserved during transfer. Once imported, the issue becomes part of the live coordination model, where it can be assigned, commented on, and tracked according to established BIM issue management procedures.

The integration supports existing BIM standards-based workflows by embedding deviation data into the same environment used for multidisciplinary coordination. This reduces the need for parallel tracking systems and aligns reality-capture analysis with model-based review processes.

Deployment and Implementation
The integration is available within Hexagon Multivista Analyze and is designed for use on active construction projects employing Revizto as a coordination platform. Implementation does not require a separate issue-tracking tool; instead, deviation data is pushed into existing project spaces within Revizto.

Hexagon provides the deviation detection and analysis services, while Revizto manages issue visualization, assignment, and collaboration within the federated BIM environment. The integration supports incremental adoption, allowing teams to select specific deviations for transfer rather than synchronizing entire datasets.

Applications and Operational Impact
The combined workflow is suited to complex commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, and infrastructure projects where tolerance management and installation accuracy are critical. Typical use cases include verification of structural elements, MEP coordination checks, and façade alignment validation.

By linking deviation detection directly to model-based issue tracking, teams can reduce manual data handling steps and improve traceability of corrective actions. The result is improved process stability in coordination cycles and clearer documentation of non-conformance resolution within the construction lifecycle.
