DEHN Introduces Integrated Lightning and Surge Protection Concept
A coordinated framework combines engineering services, protection hardware and software to support reliable electrified buildings and critical infrastructure operation.

Electrification of buildings, renewable integration and expanding data infrastructure increase exposure to electrical disturbances and safety risks across modern installations. In this context, DEHN will present a 360° protection approach combining engineering services and hardware at Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt (8–13 March 2026).
Protection design spanning planning to operation
The concept combines consulting, planning, engineering services and analogue and digital protection components into a coordinated framework intended for continuous operation of building infrastructure and technical facilities. The approach addresses lightning and surge protection together with occupational safety requirements across electrified environments such as smart buildings and data infrastructure within a digital supply chain.
Technical sessions at booth B90 (hall 12.0) will cover implementation of IEC 62305 / EN 62305 Edition 3 requirements and practical deployment strategies, along with the use of AI and chatbots in electrical engineering workflows.
New surge arresters and installation options
Among the hardware presented is DEHNventil ACI, a pre-wired combined arrester that operates without a backup fuse. The device introduces Advanced Circuit Interruption (ACI) technology in the Type 1 arrester class.
DEHNguard MD expands surge protection installation flexibility using a double screw connection that supports both stub wiring and feed-through wiring with different conductor types.
Additional exhibits include retrofit earthing solutions for existing buildings and the HVI light plus insulated down conductor system designed to withstand high voltage without requiring connection to equipotential bonding.
Training, workshops and practical demonstrations
A dedicated Lightning Protection Theme Day on 12 March 2026 will address installers, planners and technical specialists through presentations and workshops focused on standards, system design and implementation practices.
An outdoor DEHN Workspace area (F11.A02) will allow hands-on testing of tools and safety equipment related to earthing and protection installation. At the booth, interactive stations and a virtual reality demonstration will illustrate application scenarios.
