MOBOTIX receives EN 54-10 certification for M73 thermal bundle

MOBOTIX has achieved EN 54-10 certification for its new M73 Thermal Bundle, confirming compliance with European standards for flame detector-based fire detection systems and the EU Construction Products Regulation. The newly certified bundle replaces the previous 90° version with an upgraded 95° VGA thermal sensor, delivering higher performance without a price increase.

The certification applies to the complete solution, covering both hardware and software components required for compliant integration into fire alarm systems. The bundle is designed for early fire detection in demanding environments such as industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, waste management sites and large technical areas, where fast and reliable detection is critical.

The new 95° VGA thermal module represents a significant technical upgrade. Operating at 30 frames per second with a thermal sensitivity of 30 millikelvin, it offers faster response times and higher measurement precision compared to the earlier 90° module, which operated at 9 fps and 50 mK. The wider field of view allows large areas to be monitored with fewer devices, while improved sensitivity supports earlier detection of critical temperature changes.

Thermal fire detection functions independently of visual conditions and remains effective in the presence of smoke, dust or poor lighting. This makes it particularly suitable for environments where conventional heat detectors or aspirating smoke detection systems may respond too slowly or deliver unreliable results. MOBOTIX’s radiometric technology enables continuous temperature monitoring in up to 20 configurable measurement windows, with detection distances of up to 25 meters in line with EN 54-10 requirements.

For additional verification and incident documentation, the system can be combined with an optional 4K optical sensor. This allows visual confirmation of alarm events and helps reduce false interpretations during incident analysis. The certified bundle includes all necessary components for standards-compliant deployment, including the Mx-NPAA box for certified PoE+ power supply and the Mx-4IO box for connection to existing fire alarm infrastructure.

Beyond detection performance, the solution emphasizes cybersecurity and long-term reliability. Both hardware and software are developed and manufactured in Germany and are supplied with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty. With EN 54-10 certification now in place, the M73 Thermal Bundle is positioned as a fully certified early fire detection solution for applications requiring high precision, system integration capability and robust operational security.
