Digital Visitor Management for Secure Access Control

Hikvision has expanded its access control portfolio with a new range of visitor terminals engineered for digital registration and identification of visitors in reception areas, front desks and corporate buildings, supporting both self-service and assisted operation modes.

Visitor management for modern corporate environments
The new visitor terminals are designed for indoor use in staffed or unstaffed environments and address the growing need for secure, efficient and standardized visitor management. By automating registration and credential issuance, the system reduces waiting times, minimizes manual intervention and supports compliance with data protection requirements. The solution targets organizations seeking to combine operational efficiency with controlled access and traceability.

Device variants and operating modes
The DS-K5033 visitor terminals are available in a self-service version with a single touchscreen, allowing visitors to complete the registration process independently, as well as in two assisted versions with dual displays designed for direct interaction between the receptionist and the visitor.

Each model integrates a camera, card reader, OCR reader, QR code reader and an embedded printer for issuing QR code credentials. During system configuration, it is also possible to assign a physical badge as an alternative access credential, which is relevant in environments where QR code readers are not deployed or where visible identification is required.

Registration, identification and data handling
Visitor registration can be performed autonomously or with operator support, including document verification and secure storage of credentials. The integrated OCR reader automatically captures personal data from passports, reducing manual input and accelerating the registration process.

The terminals can operate in stand-alone mode, including in unstaffed locations, or be integrated into HikCentral Professional. In integrated configurations, access levels and visitor flows are managed centrally. Connectivity via TCP/IP or Wi-Fi enables data synchronization, with storage capacity of up to 300,000 records. Access credentials can be issued as M1 cards or QR codes, which can be used at enabled access points throughout the facility.

Through the built-in web platform, administrators can remotely access visitor logs, monitor access flows in real time and analyze collected data for operational or security purposes.

Installation and system management
Installation and configuration are designed to be fast and standardized, supported by interface consistency across the Hikvision ecosystem. This reduces setup time for installers, particularly in multi-product deployments managed through HikCentral Professional. For operators and end users, usability is a core design principle, ensuring intuitive operation, secure data handling and continuous service even in stand-alone mode.

The visitor-facing display can be customized with corporate images or videos, allowing organizations to integrate branding and communication into the registration process.

Digital reception as an operational standard
Hikvision’s visitor terminals are intended for use in medium to large enterprises, coworking spaces, corporate offices, public facilities and logistics sites. Native integration within the Hikvision ecosystem, combined with automation, traceability and configurable workflows, positions the solution as a standardized approach to visitor management, where security, operational efficiency and corporate image are addressed within a single, integrated system.
