Saving resources thanks to smart building automation

According to a UNEP report, the average household in the EU produces 7.2 tonnes of CO2.Quite a lot – but with the help of KNX, this figure can be reduced in the smart home.

  • With individual room control: Precise control of lighting, heating, air conditioning and other electrical devices via KNX. Adjustment to actual demand can avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
  • With constant light control: Various KNX sensors ensure, for example, that the light is only switched on when someone is actually in the room and that the lighting is adjusted according to the amount of daylight.
  • With monitoring and analysis: Thanks to sensors and measuring devices, KNX systems can monitor energy consumption and provide data for analysis. On this basis, you can make optimisations to further reduce the carbon footprint.
With Cala KNX T 101, you can elegantly measure the room temperature indoors. Thanks to the integrated room temperature controller, heating and cooling can be controlled individually and economically.
The Room Temperature Controller Cala KNX T 101 measures the room temperature and displays the current value in white illuminated figures. Via the bus the device can receive an external measured value and process it with own data to overall temperature value (mixed value). The Cala KNX T 101 has got an integrated PI controller for a heating and a cooling system (one or two step). The room temperature is adjusted by means of the „+" and „-" touch buttons.

The device is supplemented with a frame of the switch series used in the building, and thus fits seamlessly into the interior fittings.

The smart sensormeasures the values of CO2, temperature and humidity and detects brightness and presence. Among other things, it can be used to implement constant light control. The Sensor Sewi KNX AQS/TH LPr light for the KNX bus system captures the presence of persons even in the event of slight movements, such as sedentary activity in the office. Permanentbrightness monitoring means that the light can be switched off from an adjustable brightness value. In addition, the Sewi KNX AQS/TH L-Pr light measures temperature, air humidity (including mixed value calculation) and CO2 concentration and calculates the dew point.

All measurement values can be used for the control of limit-dependent switching outputs. States can be linked via AND logic gates and OR logic gates. Multi-function modules change input data as required by means of calculations, querying a condition, or converting the data point type. In addition, an integrated manipulated variable comparator can compare and output variables that were received via communication
objects.

Integrated PI controllers control ventilation (according to CO2 concentration) and heating/cooling (according to temperature).

With the CasaConnect KNX
building control centre, you can keep an eye on your building technology: Shading, ventilation, ambient climate and lighting can be controlled manually or automatically. The large touch screen allows simple centralised setting and operation and the automatic system can be adjusted without ETS.

The CasaConnect KNX Central Unit is a control unit for the KNX building bus system. The graphic touch screen and the integrated automatic functions allow easy central setting and operation of the technical equipment installed in the building. The basic configuration is carried out via the ETS.
