Systems integration specialist SELLA CONTROLS, is pleased to announce the contract award by telent Technology Services to supply a Building Management System (BMS) to Rail for London (RfL).

Rail Integration specialist to supply Building Management System

The contract forms part of the continuing Crossrail project and will provide RfL with a centralised BMS to monitor assets at RfL stations, London Underground interchange stations and at Vent Shaft and Portal locations along the Crossrail line of route.

The solution will be supplied using the latest ICONICS Suite BMS platform and a range of Mitsubishi IQR BMS Controllers. The system architecture will consist of a central server system located at Plumstead Depot with a number of user access terminals. This provide a flexible access to the system for operational and maintenance diagnosis. The ICONICS Suite also provides data access to engineers via its APP and will be installed onto a number of tablet devices.

The central system will integrate existing 3rd party BMS at stations and the new BMS controllers supplied at Shaft and portal locations providing a common platform for alarm management and data reporting. By centralising data capture, information can then be relayed to RfL/TfL data warehousing and Maintenance Management Systems.

When completed and commissioned into service the system will be supported under the existing telent 1FM Support Agreement with TfL. As a result, SELLA CONTROLS direct support agreement with telent will be expanded to encompass this solution.

“This project demonstrates a significant award for SELLA CONTROLS and the strong working partnership we have with telent Technology Services. Using our product capability and BMS/SCADA integration expertise alongside the telent delivery team presented TfL with a flexible and cost effective solution. This clearly demonstrates our capability as a Systems Integrator,”
Chris Elliott, Business Development Director for Rail at SELLA CONTROLS commented.

“SELLA CONTROLS are a premier supplier of BMS/SCADA applications in the global rail market. We will be providing modern COTS products from Mitsubishi Electric for installation and operation on the Elizabeth Line. This further strengthens the product partnership between SELLA CONTROLS and Mitsubishi,” Elliott commented further.

“Telent are pleased to be working with Sella Controls and Mitsubishi Electric on this project to provide centralised asset monitoring at various sites along the Elizabeth Line. The project demonstrates TfL’s confidence that Telent and Sella Controls can deliver another operationally important system to the network, which helps to keep London moving,”
Ben Armstrong commented.
