Once again, a jury of five experts has awarded 34 products with the Design Plus powered by Light + Building seal of quality. Among the winners is the PRIMO 2, a socket strip from BACHMANN which is capable of more than just distributing power.
Rohde & Schwarz is continuously extending its portfolio of test solutions for 5G base stations and the associated massive MIMO antenna arrays and amplifiers. Highlights include an OTA test solution with frontend modules specifically for the 5G FR2 range and a solution for speed-optimized tests of 5G base stations. Both are ideal for use in production. There is also a new, innovative test solution that allows developers to perform cross-channel measurements with up to 4x4 MIMO in the FR1 range.
Leading cable gland and cable cleat manufacturer, CMP Products, has launched its new quad cable cleat range ‘Saturn’ (QSDSS), which allows cables to be safely installed in quad formation.
Experienced operators can print and manually apply a flag label on a cable in 15 seconds. With the new BradyPrinter A5500 Flag Printer Applicator they can significantly increase production output by flagging cables in 5 seconds.
WLAN and Bluetooth have limited bandwidth, making conventional wireless communication problematic in the production environment. Nevertheless, numerous components such as sensors and robots need to be wirelessly connected. To overcome this challenge, a team of researchers at Fraunhofer IOSB-INA in Lemgo is working on solutions with help from the Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL) University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Soon, it is hoped that machines in factory buildings will communicate with one another using light pulses. This technology is not new, but now it needs to be adapted for use in industry.
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has launched a smart building suite designed to create more efficient and flexible workplaces where people are at the core.
